Lake District Activities in and near Keswick

The Borrowdale Valley is located in the Northern Lake District, 16 miles West of Penrith, 30 miles South of Carlisle and just a few miles from Keswick. The valley is truly amazing running, at first, the length of Derwentwater and beyond to Seathwaite. Whilst the area remains relatively quiet all the year around, the nearby town of Keswick attracts a wide range of visitors. With its variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries, a cinema, leisure centre, museum and well reputed theatre, there is much to see and do for those that like town life. The lake offers travel via the launches, boat hire, fishin etc.

The whole Northern Lake District is a haven for walkers and those that enjoy ‘the great outdoors’. There are many other activities in the area to choose from though, including cycling, water sports, fishing, bird watching and golf.

Below are a selection of website links to activities in and near Castle Lodge. There are many activities, for all ages and abilities, in the Lake District and Cumbria.
